DescriptionDuke Ellington sits at a piano, hands raised just above the keys, towards the bottom left of the composition. Ellington is almost backlit, some detail on his jacket and face can be seen, but his lower body and the side of the piano are silhouetted against the stage lights. Two beams of light shine down in dramatic diagonals from the top right, perfectly spotlighting Ellington on the stage.
