DescriptionA young Mary, center, begins to climb the steep steps up to the temple, her hair flowing around her unveiled head. She leaves her parents, Anne and Joachim, behind her in the square. At the top of the steps, the temple priests await her arrival, one with arms open in welcoming. Below, a man sells pairs of animals for sacrifice.
