DescriptionBust-length portrait of King Louis XIV of France. His likeness is rendered inside of an oval surrounded by objects symbolic of his rule including a crown at top, a laurel wreath and branches, a scale, a sword, and scepters. The portrait of Louis XIV itself depicts him as a younger man, with a long dark wig, wearing armor and a large lace collar.
