DescriptionHalf portrait at three-quarter view. The King wears a standing collar on top of a heavily embroidered tunic and a livery collar of the order of the golden fleece. He is surrounded by an oval frame of leaves that is tied at the top, the tassels of the ties hang slightly down into the image. Around the frame, an abundance of fruit, vegetables, vines, stalks of wheat, trumpets and draperies fill the space. At bottom, the cartouche is topped with a little scallop shell.InterpretationsHapsburg, Gift of Robert and Karen Hoehn
