DescriptionTwo men tussle on a wharf, their wrestling bodies intertwining in a circular motion, echoing the tondo format of the lithograph. The man on the left brings his muscular arm back in preparation to strike, while the man on the right kneels, grabbing his opponent from the backs of his knees. Their location is hinted at by the cleat hitch tied with rope in the foreground, and a dolly loaded with crates in the background.
