DescriptionA sweeping scene of the Hebrew nation's exodus from Egypt. In the background, hordes of people cross the sea safely between its parted waves, while, to their right, Egyptian soldiers drown in the stormy seas. In the foreground, some travelers begin to rest from their journey, while at left, the figure of Moses can be seen pointing towards a younger man, Joshua, appointing him as his successor. To the right, a young man urges nursing mothers onward, towards the proposed land. This print was created after the fresco by Bronzino in the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence.
