DescriptionThe artist Hyacinthe Rigaud stands at center of the composition, looking through an architectural stone window. His voluminous cape is draped about his shoulders and elegantly falls over the window's ledge, towards the viewer. Rigaud stands, slightly at an angle, looking directly at the viewer while holding an ink pen in his right hand, and wearing a loosely wrapped turban positioned at a jaunty angle on his head. An easel can be made out in the shadows just behind him. Bibliographical information appears etched in the stone cartouche just below the window. This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
