DescriptionNight scene in dramatic chiaroscuro illuminated by the moon in the top left and a unseen lamp or fire in the center of the image. A large crowd enact a Christmas processional before the San Geronimo Church in Taos, New Mexico. They exit from the stepped facade of the church's walls carrying a statue of the Virgin Mary.
