DescriptionVirgin adoring the infant Christ. The infant Christ sleeps on draped cloth, His hair curling and falling around His face. The Virgin Mary looks on serenely, her hands together in prayer. Their haloes have been highlighted by white ink against the darker colored paper. The drapery illustrated behind them makes similar use of this highlighting technique, adding extra depth and drama to the composition.
