DescriptionA series of five prints to be read in sequential order, beginning with an image of the artist grimacing and gripping a piece of paper with both hands. In each image, the artist crushes the object in his fists further and further, until it seemingly disappears into his hand. The series was created by laying his face and arms directly against the glass platen of the copy machine, and taking copies as he posed. Ramiro created a body of works using this technique, most notably the series called "Passe de mágica" or "Magic Tricks," one of which was exhibited in "Xerografia: Copyart in Brazil, 1970-1990" at the Hoehn Family Galleries in fall 2017.This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
