DescriptionA series of four square blocks of colors, nestled inside each other. At center is a black square followed by: dark navy blue, sage green, and lastly, a darker shade of sage green on top of a cream sheet of paper. Albers's superimposed squares of colors started as paintings in 1950, and were, in part, a mode of studying color theory in his artistic practice.
