DescriptionIllustration to accompany the William Wordsworth poems "To the Moon" and "The Moon" published in 'Passages from Modern English Poets' (1861) which featured contributions from members of the Junior Etching Club (1857-1864). The nocturnal, moonlit scene of a stream in a forest appears to portray the opening lines of "The Moon": 'The aspiring mountains and the winding streams, / Empress of Night, are gladdened by thy beams; / A look of thine the wilderness pervades / And penetrates the forest's inmost shades'
