DescriptionA Black women sits posed in a studio setting, nude except for platform high heel shoes on her feet. The studio backdrop is an arrangement of carefully draped swaths of fabric, all with dazzling graphic or animal prints. A small bouquet of flowers rests next to the sitter, who looks directly at the camera, her posture confident, yet relaxed. Along the vertical sides of the print, the composition breaks from the usual black-and-white of a photogravure, and includes slivers of a graphic pattern in brown.
