DescriptionAt center, Pluto abducts Proserpina, her arms and body flailing backwards into his chariot. Minerva chases after them, her shield raised and her spear drawn, followed by two companions behind. Below in their shadows, the nymph Cyane clutches Proserpina's gown above an overturned basket of flowers. Beneath the chariot, sea nymphs rise out of the water shielding themselves from the hurtling chariot and horses.
