DescriptionPublished in "Le Charivari," August 8, 1851. Daumier's satirical character Ratapoil appears with French politicians Léon Léonard Joseph Faucher (1803-1854) and Pierre Antoine Berryer (1790-1868), who had debated in Parliament over reforming the Constitution. Berryer represents the majority of Parliament that had voted to reform the Constitution, while the bust of Faucher represents the opposition.
