DescriptionHand woven twined burden basket with full twist overlay; conical shaped, with finished rim of wrapped willow, and reinforced bottom (start) covered with some type of resin; willow used for warp, weft is pine root; fibers used for decoration include black fern stems and some redbud; design includes geometric elements, diagonal bands of lozenges, each lozenge bisected with two vertical bars, diamonds and crosses on lozenges below rim, narrow concentric stripes, and diagonal reticulated bands separating larger diagonal lozenges; the start has rows of diagonal twine; light tan with brown and black.
