DescriptionView of the large, decorative column in Piazza Colonna in Rome. The column is ornately decorated with designs in relief that twist around its circular form. It is topped with a statue above a balcony. At its giant base, people rest in its shade, street vendors set up stalls against the pedestal's walls, and carriages pass through the busy square.
