DescriptionHand coiled and scraped bowl; small circular concave base, wall flared, and then rounded to high shoulder, constricting to short neck and wide mouth, with mostly flat rim; restricted vessel; slipped; burnished; white ground with pink undertone, and black and red painted decorations; design consists of band of four bound panels, each with highly stylized butterfly element, with 2 large ones, and two smaller ones; main design has 2 large opposing rosette elements alternating with 2 circular stepped elements, with interior stylized heartline deer at top and bottom, and 2 rows of 2 stylized birds; lower wall and base are red.This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
