DescriptionHand coiled and scraped jar; squashed spherical shape; small circular base, slightly concave, flared wall to mid-shoulder, wall sharply constricted to wide mouth; restricted vessel; slipped, burnished, painted; yellow ground with orange blush fire clouds and black and red painted decorations; design consists of 1/2 of jar having open area with flower and hummingbird, and very small hummingbird getting nectar through long beak and an eagle bird nearby; other half of jar has stippling, geometric elements, four large scrolls, with thin stripes separating decorated blocks.This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
