DescriptionHand woven plain plaited carrying basket; made of splint ash wood; warps are wider splints, wefts are narrow splints; commercial canvas straps wrapped around top of basket below rim and vertically from rim area, underneath base, passing through plaiting, with metal buckles to adjust the straps for carrying items ; handle notched at rim so it cannot come off.
