DescriptionHand woven on upright loom, probably hand spun; rectangular panel, with tassel at each corner, and finished selvages; black, gray, brown, and cream; design consists of large stepped diamond inside of a larger stepped, angular diamond, and at center is a stepped geometric element; the rug has a plain black border, with a narrower cream border inside of it; a small stylized head head and body, possibly of an animal or insect is at each corner; a broken stepped line frames each side of the main diamond motif.
