DescriptionHand coiled, modeled, and scraped vessel; small, circular flat base, wall slightly curved to mid-shoulder, gently constricting to double spout, with wide, flat loop connecting spouts; restricted vessel; slipped; burnished; dark orange-red ground with black painted decorations. Design consists of two oval design zones on opposing walls, both with stylized katsinas, one with round face, wearing tableta with dangling arrows, open rectangular slit eyes, round mouth, with three stripes; the other one has round face, wearing tableta, closed slit eyes, round mouth with three stripes; both are wearing striped textile; figure is stylized Butterfly Maiden.This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
