DescriptionHand coiled and scraped vase; flat, circular base, on one side wall is more rounded out and on other side wall is straighter, which makes it lop-sided; wall then constricts to short neck and everted rim; restricted vessel; slipped exterior, burnished; light creamy tan ground, darker tan rim and inside neck, and black and red painted decorations, and blush fired clouds; design consists of three fields of decoration, each with a curvilinear bird motif with similar elements and style, but each has different set of elements from the other two; feathers, scrolls, tail feathers, stippling as filler, and geometric elements.This record has been reviewed by University Galleries staff but may be incomplete or contain errors.
